Welcome to our expanded and special community of caring
Since 2001, The Villages community has been supporting and sustaining Villagers for Hospice. As we continue to see the population growth and land expansion in The Villages, we see not only new hospice providers, but many other groups that offer services to residents who have special needs as they age.
We need to grow as well…so we have expanded our mission to include not only hospice care, but to also be able to financially support these other volunteer groups as well. We are the same team with a NEW NAME…VILLAGERS LIFE CARE ADVOCATES. Our mission is “to enhance quality of life by providing funds to support hospice efforts and comprehensive life care resources that serve The Villages community.”
We invite you to browse our new web site that we believe provides the only inclusive site for our Villages residents. The site offers information about hospice facilities and other service providers such as churches, nursing homes, rehab centers, residential, memory care and Alzheimer's units, as well as other services available to the Villages community.
We hope that this site will be helpful to you, and we ask for your support we have received in the past as we continue our fundraising efforts.
From Our Founder...
We often refer to The Villages as “Paradise” and it truly is. I have lived here for over twenty years and have watched it grow from a small retirement community to what is now, the largest in the country. Our population exceeds over 120,000 residents and is growing.
There are many reasons for this phenomenal growth, including the multitude of golf courses, swimming pools, pickle ball and tennis courts, numerous restaurants and over 3,000 clubs and activities. Medical facilities and services for those with special needs are also readily available. This is important as 77% of our population is 65 or older.
However, to me, what really makes The Villages stand out from all of the other retirement communities - is that we really live up to our motto of ‘Florida’s Friendliest Hometown’. Villagers genuinely do care for each other.
One of the ways that we show our caring is by being a proactive front-runner in the Aging-in-Place movement, enabling our residents to remain at home for as long as possible as they age. In addition to the medical facilities and services, there are many small non-profit groups in The Villages that provide a plethora of supplemental services such as transportation, groceries, hot meals and numerous other services. Their services are often low-cost or free of charge.
These small groups are often run by volunteers and may need supplemental funding from time to time. That is why we formed Villagers Life Care Advocates. We provide funding assistance to the small non-profits that fill such a vital need in the community, helping our neighbors remain comfortably at home for as long as possible.
Villagers Life Care Advocates is proud to help these groups which do so much to assist those in need. In essence, we are Villagers helping Villagers.
We hope that you find our new site helpful and we ask for the support we have received in the past as we continue our fundraising efforts.
